A virtually female only
breed, the tortoiseshell (tortie) persian supposed to be a black
cat with unbrindled colors of cream and red.
A DILUTE tortie persian
is a blue cream persian.
HISTORY
Longhaired cats with tortoiseshell
markings were first recorded towards the end of the nineteenth century
and appeared in the early cat shows of the 1900's.
TEMPERAMENT
The tortoiseshell (tortie)
persian has been called the CANDY BAR cat: a little bit sweet and
a little bit nuts!
Torties can have a 'catittude'
and are typically known to be excellent mothers.
