Tortoiseshell Persian

(TORTIE)

A virtually female only breed, the tortoiseshell (tortie) persian supposed to be a black cat with unbrindled colors of cream and red.

A DILUTE tortie persian is a blue cream persian.

HISTORY

Longhaired cats with tortoiseshell markings were first recorded towards the end of the nineteenth century and appeared in the early cat shows of the 1900's.

TEMPERAMENT

The tortoiseshell (tortie) persian has been called the CANDY BAR cat: a little bit sweet and a little bit nuts!

Torties can have a 'catittude' and are typically known to be excellent mothers.
